We are pleased to have Dr Rebecca Welshman of Exeter University, who is a member of the Hardy Society, coming to give a talk which will discuss Hardy’s interests in folklore and archaeology during the 1880s when he was a member of the Dorset Natural History and Antiquarian Field Club.
The talk will then explore folkloric associations in Hardy’s works, the significance of sites such as ‘The Cross-in-Hand’, and superstitions associated with archaeological sites.
