Event 20 on 16th September was a talk by Stephen Candy about the gardens of Kingston Lacy and as a follow-up we are having a guided tour of those marvellous gardens by one of the team of volunteers working there. The tour will be of general interest and we will have the opportunity to enter the Japanese Tea Garden, an area not generally open for public access owing to its delicate planting. Also, unlike the public tours, if the weather is inclement, we will be offered an informative and interesting indoor slide presentation.
At the end of the tour members will be free to make their own arrangements and spend further time in the gardens or move into the house, where they may wish to visit the Stables Restaurant for lunch and view the interior of this beautiful 17th C house, the home of the Bankes family for more than 300 years.
Travel to Kingston Lacy by own transport.
