Talk by Neil Lovesey
How easy is it for you to name 10 butterflies? Bearing in mind there are 4 different bees for every butterfly, now try to name 10 different bees (bumblebee doesn’t count!) Can’t do it? This talk looks at many of our bees, then at the fascinating relationship between bees and flowers so both benefit. Don’t ask whether the egg came before the chicken, but ask what came first, the flower or the bee!
Our speaker is Neil Lovesey from Picket Lane Nursery, South Perrott – a family–run nursery spread over 10 acres of beautiful countryside with 1,500 varieties of perennials and shrubs, all propagated on site. With rare breed pigs, a cider apple orchard and an apiary with over a dozen bee hives, Picket Lane Nursery is a diverse, eco–friendly business.
