Date(s) - 26 March, 2015
Fursdon has been occupied by the same family since 1259 and we will have a relaxed and informative guided tour of this historic home with its four acres of land. We will hear stories about the family who have lived there over the years and witness some of the challenges of the 21st century. There is a terraced and walled garden and wonderful views across the parkland towards Dartmoor. On arrival we will be served coffee / tea and homemade biscuits.
From Fursdon our driver will take us to Knightshayes (NT) – a much younger property! Here we will explore the Victorian gothic country house with richly decorated interiors and a fine garden, taking lunch in the Stables Café (self-service) when desired. New in 2014 is the kitchen area open to visitors for the first time, while the gardens are always spectacular. This promises to be a fascinating day out, so please join us.
