Following on our tradition of a pre-Christmas theme, we have invited Pamela Simpson to give a talk “Seasonal Scenes of Winter” which will cover paintings, sculpture and photography and feature, amongst others, artists including Andy Goldsworthy; Lee Miller; the Impressionists Sisley, Pissarro and Monet; Dutch artists Avercamp and Breughal; and Wilson Bentley’s photographs of snowflakes.
Pam is a professional Art & Design historian who has taught in London art colleges including the Royal College of Art; Middlesex University; and the London College of Fashion, University of the Arts for 32 years. She is currently an Associate Lecturer at Bath Spa University in the School of Design. An enthusiastic lecturer who loves her subject and conveying her knowledge to others, she has been teaching Art & Design History courses in Bridport and Lyme Regis since giving up full-time work in London. Pam recently appeared at this year’s Beaminster Festival.
